COVID-19

We have been avidly researching and keeping up to date with Covid news in order to maximize safety in the clinic at Ume.

We ask that everyone who enters the clinic remains masked at all times. Masks should be well-fitting and not have open valves.

Appointments are staggered more than before so as to allow ample time for distancing of clients and sanitizing the office throughout the day. Seniors and high-risk patients are invited to contact us a week or more in advance if they would like to book the first appointments of the day.

Patients are asked to arrive unaccompanied to the clinic at the time of their appointment, and will proceed directly to their treatment room instead of utilizing the waiting area. Temperatures are scanned with no-touch forehead thermometers upon arrival.

There will be a freshly sanitized plastic bin in each treatment room for patients’ belongings. Coat hooks are unavailable for use at this time. Treatment tables, stools, and high touch surfaces throughout the clinic will be cleaned between every patient with disinfectant containing EPA-approved agents for use against SARS-CoV-2. Each treatment room is equipped with HEPA filters with UVC light, and the HVAC system is equipped with a MERV-13 filter approved for Covid safety. The air in each room is replaced several times over between each patient, and the rest of the office is constantly ventilated throughout the day with fans.

At this time we are asking that before entering our office, everyone waits 2 weeks after:

  • Onset of potential Covid symptoms, including loss of taste or smell, fever, chills, sore throat, nasal congestion, unexplained fatigue, diarrhea, and unexplained muscle aches.
  • Known exposure to Covid
  • Air, train or bus travel outside of the Bay Area
  • Close contact with non-household members who have had close contact with other non-household members prior to your gathering. Close contact is defined as unmasked, less than 6 feet apart, for 15 or more cumulative minutes in a day.

Virtual consultations via telehealth or phone are always available for those who cannot come for an appointment. Late cancellation fees are being waived for reasons of illness or unplanned Covid exposure.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation! Your safety is of the utmost importance to us. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
