Shannon Lee Teshima is a California licensed acupuncturist, herbalist and a certified doula. She holds a four-year postgraduate degree from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACTCM) in San Francisco. Shannon’s clinical experience includes internships at the California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC) Stroke Center and the Berkeley Primary Care Center at Alta Bates Hospital. She has completed advanced training in acupuncture, herbal prescriptions and nutritional health specializing in women’s health with leading fertility experts in both the United States and in China. While studying abroad in Hangzhou, China, Shannon did rounds at Zhejiang Medical University Hospitals where she studied a wide range of disorders with an emphasis on OB/Gyn, pediatrics and autoimmune disorders.
Shannon has received advanced training in labor and delivery and postpartum care from Cornerstone Doula Program. Prior to finding acupuncture, Shannon was involved in public health research for nearly 10 years, working for multiple organizations including Center for Disease Control (CDC) and American Cancer Society. Her research interest lies in promoting access to preventive medicine and patient education.
